Poster describing and showing the making and use of a poultice of 5% (w/v) Klucel® G (hydroxypropylcellulose) in Acetone for the treatment of aged adhesive tape staining on a Bible.
This Bible was bought new for my grandfather. When he gave it to my mother, she chucked it in schoolbag and repaired the resulting tears with whatever clear tape they had at home. The Bible came into my care 40 years later with badly degraded tape and distorted pages. Treatment included the removal of the tape carrier, treatment of the residue with Klucel® G in Acetone and realignment and repair of the original damage.
